Introduction
As Agile scales across organisations, the role of the SAFe® Release Train Engineer (RTE) becomes central to delivering value at enterprise level. This course prepares you to step into the RTE role with confidence, clarity, and the tools to succeed.
Yet stepping into this role isn’t without its challenges. New RTEs are responsible for coordination across dozens (sometimes hundreds) of stakeholders — teams, product managers, architects, business owners, and executives — all while facilitating alignment across objectives and delivery timelines. Typical challenges are:

Who Is This Certification For
The SAFe® Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) course is designed for individuals who need to lead cross-functional initiatives, coach agile teams, solve problems across fast-moving environments, and work closely with stakeholders at all levels.
Typical roles include:
- Project or Release Manager
- Delivery Lead or Operations Manager
- IT or Business Leader
- Scrum Master (moving from team level facilitation to ART or program level leadership)
- SAFe team-level role (e.g., Product Owner/Product Manager)
- Agile Coach or Agile Program Manager

Trainer
Mette Bruhn-Pedersen is an experienced Agile transformation leader and SAFe® Program Consultant (SPC). She helps clients define and organise around value streams and build high-performing Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and Agile teams. Although her role is often agile coach she has gained hands-on experience as a SAFe® Release Train Engineer (RTE) and Solution Train Engineer (STE) (coordination between multiple ARTs) while coaching and mentoring people to step into the role.
In addition, Mette has several years of experience in software testing, having worked as a tester, test manager, and test leader in both classic and agile environments.
Mette is also a certified Agility Health® Facilitator Trainer.
